By Andrew Cruttenden, General Manager, Trainline Partner Solutions

As we wrap up 2025, we’ve been reflecting on what this year really meant for Trainline Partner Solutions - for our team, our partners and the growing community of travellers choosing rail for business.

It’s been our strongest year yet. Not just in growth, but in the quality of what we delivered and the scale of impact we’ve created together.

Partnerships that moved the industry forward

This year reaffirmed something we’ve always believed: when the right partners come together, corporate rail moves faster.

Ground Transportation Platform of the Year

The industry recognition we received this year, including winning ‘Business Travel Partner of the Year – Ground Transportation Platform’ at the Business Travel Awards 2025, reflected the strength of these partnerships and the shared ambition driving corporate rail forward.

Our work with American Express Global Business Travel stepped up a level, as we signed a multi-year pan-European deal. It’s a tangible step towards greater rail adoption and offering more choice to AMEX GBT’s travellers. Our collaboration with SAP Concur continued to deliver, helping corporates bring complex, multi-market journeys into one seamless booking flow. We’re now proud to be championing SAP Concur’s cross-border rail offering as of this year.

Renewing our partnership with Navan was another standout moment, we even saw Trainline Partner Solutions appear on their Times Square billboard ad to announce their IPO, a positive moment for a team that typically operates behind the scenes but powers so much of the corporate rail ecosystem.

Scaling the platform behind corporate rail’s transformation

Our platform reached a new level of maturity and scale this year.

Through our Global API, more TMCs and OBTs than ever can offer pan-European rail to their customers. In H1, our B2B Distribution net ticket sales were up 36%, with International sales rising 55%. This was another great milestone for the team, who continue to be one of the fastest growing areas of Trainline.

We also continued to enhance our carrier connectivity, enabling Renfe content for Navan and supporting partners as Spain’s increasingly competitive market opened up to corporate travel. With additional carriers set to enter the Spanish market in 2026, our partners can expect more routes, greater choice and stronger rail demand from their corporate clients.

At the same time, our IT Solutions team did exceptional work,  successfully rolling out RDGs Passenger Assistance API. This allows travellers to arrange additional support when booking online, such as ramps, wheelchair spaces and on-the-day assistance at stations.

Improving the journey for corporate travellers and their bookers

A better corporate rail experience doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from obsessing over the details.

We introduced Caledonian Sleeper bookings into Agent Tool and our Global API, bringing a smoother and more sustainable option to overnight travel between London and Scotland, and our partners and their agent’s richer tools to support customers.

We also expanded UK seat map coverage, helping agents guide travellers to the right seats with less guesswork and a bit more confidence.

Our voice in the industry

In 2025, we played an active role in shaping the industry conversation. At the BTA Autumn Conference in Munich, I spoke about how AI is changing corporate travel, not in abstract terms, but in ways that genuinely help TMCs, OBTs and travellers manage journeys, policies and decisions more easily.

IFTM 2025 in Paris

The team continued to champion rail at the ITM Spring Conference, joining a panel led by Navan, at IFTM in Paris, the SAP Concur travel roadshow and at GBTA Europe where we contributed to an important discussion on Neurodiversity and Business Travel.

Alongside attending events, we hosted two Customer Advisory Boards, bringing together partners to share challenges, solutions, shape our roadmap and hear from carriers first-hand – ensuring we’re all aligned on what’s next for corporate rail.

What this year tells us about the road ahead

2025 will be remembered as the year Trainline Partner Solutions delivered record growth and proved the true potential of modern rail distribution.

More importantly, it showed us what’s possible when we combine partner ambition with the right technology. Rail is no longer the sustainable alternative sitting on the sidelines. It has become a credible default for corporate travel across Europe.

And as we head into 2026, we’ll continue to do what works best: deepening partnerships, expanding our coverage, simplifying the complex and giving every traveller more reasons to choose rail.

Thank you to our partners and our team for an exceptional year. I’m incredibly proud of what we built together, and excited for what’s next!
